Eco-Cottage ADU

An attached, accessory dwelling unit (ADU) for a senior couple with a focus on energy efficiency, sustainability, accessibility, and spatial efficiency.

A competition submission for the Monadnock Region ADU Design Challenge in New Hampshire looking into criteria for sustainability, cost effectiveness, and innovation. We propose a simple, contextual, prefab-friendly design that relates to the formal and material language of the existing neighborhood. The proposal incorporates innovative, energy-saving Passive House design standards.

The entry received an honorable mention.
