LK Collaborative (LKC) is a Brooklyn architecture firm with a focus on Passive House, sustainable design principles, and prefabrication. We craft contemporary designs that enrich the lives of people and communities.
LKC is based in Brooklyn, New York and led by Principals Brad Leibin, AIA, and George Kontaroudis, AIA, CHPD, LEED AP BD+C, who bring more than 35 years of combined experience. Together they have designed more than 2,000 homes including supportive housing, family affordable housing, senior housing, workforce housing, dormitories, as well as market rate housing. Their experience also includes boutique hospitality work, single-family residential, and commercial office interiors. Prior to founding LKC, Leibin was an Associate and at Marvel in New York City as well as an Associate at David Baker Architects in the San Francisco Bay Area. Kontaroudis was a Senior Project Manager at Morris Adjmi Architects. The firm holds vast technical knowledge to execute at all ends of the scale spectrum, from renovations to ground-up development. We are well versed in zoning, permitting, documentation, consultant coordination, construction drawings, entitlements, bidding, and construction administration.
Because the most successful architecture is not only beautiful but functional, LKC believes in strong lines of communication with our clients. When appropriate, we are experienced at robust forms of engagement with tenants and other stakeholders. LKC also specializes in new forms of construction to save time and cost, such as modular prefabrication. We are committed to sustainable, energy efficient design strategies such as all-electric and Passive House construction. The firm is well-versed in building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, and energy codes. We treat every project as an opportunity to make a positive impact in the world through intelligent, site-specific, durable, and beautiful design.
